Hippo (a Staffy) is just amazing! His glorious submissive nature is just divine. He’s a bit of a pudding atm but we are working on his weight reduction..... hippo is 9 yrs young. Perfectly trained. And looking for a retirement home. He loves nothing more than just being with his person. Absolutely no trouble, this good sort just wants to love and be loved.

Spr inc will provide hippo with leg support injections (to avoid impending arthritis) for the next 12 mths. We will also provide hippos heart medication for the next 3 mths (his heart meds are $1.50 per day)

Hippo has some heart disease but has responded perfectly to his heart meds - which he will need for life and which we will supply for the next 3 mths or so. Hippo also has an old leg injury and being overweight does not help. So while we have been able to reduce his weight by 1kg since coming into care, he still has some 4-5 kg to go. The vast improvement we have witnessed in hippo since loosing the 1kg, together with a once a month anti inflammatory tablet and xydex injections as well as the fact that there is currently no arthritis in his old injury has determined that we won’t operate on the old boy but instead treat any impending arthritis proactively by providing him joint support in his daily meals and regular injections of “joint support”. Hippo is one of the most loving, happy and delightful dogs we have met through rescue. And all things being equal, there is no reason why we won’t see him tottering around the traps for another 4-5 years to come.  Hippo is available for adoption by donation to a very special home.
